LEADERS

(1) HERE IS A LEADER
---------------------------------
Once Abraham Lincoln was busy with his presidential campaign. He received suddenly one telegram. He told his colleagues that' He will have to go immediately.'
'Sir you cannot leave the campaign abruptly because it will adversely effect your prospect in the election'.All his well wishers advised him accordingly then.
However he left the campaigning to meet the lady who had sent the telegram. Why he gave so much importance to that call is very interesting?
When Lincoln was young poor boy the said lady gave him shelter in her house. He uses to help her in return of fevour. He studies in her house and became a successful lawyer and ultimately became political figure. Unfortunately that lady had a son who went on a wrong path and became drunkard and criminal. One day he was charged with manslaughter. She wanted that Lincoln should defend him. Therefore she called him to defend her son. Lincoln came and defended him from the mist of his election campaigning. It was very important for Lincoln to return fevour shown by said lady in form of humanity even at the cost of defeat in the election.
You can find here the finest quality of a leader.

(2) LEADER WITH GENEROCITY
---------------------------------------------
Sardar Patel was Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Home ministry at the time of independence of India. He had taken up a very difficult task of integration of Indian native states into union of India. He is considered to be iron man of India.
However there were certain native states that were creating problems in his work. The state of Travencore which was situated in the Southern India was problematic states because of its then prime minister Sir C. P. He was against joining Indian union and was misguiding then Maharaja.of Travencore. However Sir C. P. failed in his mission and Maharaja signed the treaty of accession to India. The people of Travencore were very angry with Sir C. P. and they wanted to appoint commission of enquiry for his anti national activities during his tenure of prime ministership of Travencore State.
"We should always forgive the person who is defeated. That is the biggest convention in Indian culture." said Sardar and defended Sir C. P.
Thereafter Sir C. P. was very lonely and isolated person. Once he came to Delhi and asks for Sardar's appointment. He painfully complaint to the Sardar that" Nobody is keeping friendship with him."
" I would very much like to meet you because I am friend of all those people who are friendless" He replied and met Sir C. P. with open heart for giving him solace. This is magnanimity of heart for one who was his opponent.
This quality is rarely found in leaders.

(3) THE LEADERSHIP WITH WISDOM
------------------------------------------------
ONCE NEPOLIAN WAS ATTACKING ONE OF THE ARAB COUNTRIES. HE WAS TOLD THAT ' ARAB SOLDIERS ARE VERY TALL AND STRONG IN COMPARITION WITH FRENCH SOLDIERS.'
"WE HAVE TO SEE THE WEAKNESS OF ENIMIES INSTEAD OF STRENGTH. FRENCH SOLDOERS ARE MORE ORGANIZED THEN ARABS. ONE ARAB CAN DEFEAT ONE FRENCH SOLDIER. ONE HUNDRED ARABS CAN DEFEAT ONE THOUSAND FRENCH SOLDIERS. HOWEVER I AM SURE THAT TEN THOUSAND FRENCH SOLDIERS CAN DEFEAT ONE LAC ARAB SOLDIERS BECAUSE MORE THEY ARE IN NUMBERS THEY ARE MORE DISORGANISED. THEREFORE THE ORGANIZED STRETEGY IS MORE IMPORTANT THEN THE NUMBER OR A PHYSICAL STRENGTH OF A SOLDIERS. " REPLIED NEPOLIAN.
THIS IS A LEADERSHIP WITH WISHDOM.
